What is the Goodwe ESA?
The ESA (Energy Storage All-in-one) combines a hybrid inverter and LFP battery in a single wall-mounted unit. That means one box on the wall instead of separate inverter and battery components, and a single warranty covering both.
Can I add a Goodwe ESA to my existing solar system?
Yes — in most cases. The ESA includes a built-in hybrid inverter, so it can replace your existing string inverter and add storage in the same install. We assess your current panels, switchboard, and grid connection at quote stage and confirm compatibility before committing.
How much capacity do I actually need?
For most Melbourne households, 10 to 14 kWh covers overnight usage with daytime solar topping the battery up. We size the recommendation against 12 months of your real consumption data — not a rule of thumb.
Will the Goodwe ESA keep my power on during a blackout?
Yes — the ESA includes a backup output for essential loads. We wire a dedicated backup circuit during installation, configure which loads are protected, and test the changeover before handover. If whole-home backup is a priority, tell us at quote stage so we can size accordingly.
Is the Goodwe ESA eligible for the federal STC battery rebate?
Yes — Goodwe batteries are on the approved equipment list for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program (STC), live since 1 July 2025. The discount is around 30% of the upfront cost on eligible installs, applied straight to your quote. We handle the paperwork. The incentive steps down each year through to 2030.
