About Sigenergy

A newer name here, built by people who have done this before.

Sigenergy was founded in 2022 by a team out of Huawei's energy business and launched in Australia the following year. Around 70% of its staff sit in R&D, and that shows in the product — SigenStor was designed as one integrated system rather than a battery bolted onto someone else's inverter.

We will be straight with you about the trade-off: Sigenergy has a shorter local track record than Tesla or Goodwe. What you get in return is the most flexible platform we install — modular capacity, single or three phase, and EV charging that lives in the same tower. If long local history matters more to you than integration, we will say so and point you elsewhere.

Built for homes that are not finished changing.

Most batteries are a fixed decision — you buy a size and live with it. SigenStor is the one we recommend when the answer to "how much will you use in five years?" is genuinely unknown: an EV on the horizon, a pool going in, a heat pump replacing gas. You buy the one or two 9.04 kWh modules today justifies, and stack onto it later.

    An optional DC charging module (12.5 kW or 25 kW) mounts into the same stack and is V2X-ready, so the car can eventually feed the house. Worth planning for even if the EV is still a few years away.

Around 30% is the headline figure and it holds for a typical home battery, but the scheme is tiered: since 1 May 2026 it pays the full per-kWh rate on the first 14 kWh of usable capacity, 60% of that rate from 14 to 28 kWh, and 15% above that. The underlying rate also steps down through to 2030. We calculate the exact figure for the capacity you install and show it on your quote.

What is the Sigenergy SigenStor?
SigenStor is a modular home battery tower that packs five things into one stack: a hybrid solar inverter, the battery modules themselves, the power conversion system, the energy management system, and an optional DC EV charging module. Instead of a separate inverter, battery and charger spread across a wall, you get one tower from one manufacturer. The current Australian module is the BAT 9.0 at 9.04 kWh, and a tower takes up to six of them.
How much capacity do I actually need?
For most Melbourne households, 10 to 14 kWh covers overnight usage with daytime solar topping the tower back up. The 9.04 kWh BAT 9.0 module gives 8.76 kWh usable, so one module suits a smaller household and two — around 17.5 kWh usable — covers a family home with an EV or electric heating. We size against 12 months of your real consumption data, and because the tower takes up to six modules there is always room to add one later rather than overselling you capacity now.
Can I add a SigenStor to my existing solar system?
Yes — in most cases. SigenStor includes its own hybrid inverter, so it can take over from your existing string inverter and add storage in the same install. We assess your current panels, switchboard, and grid connection at quote stage and confirm compatibility before you commit.
Will it keep my power on during a blackout?
Yes. SigenStor switches to backup in about 5 milliseconds, which is fast enough that most homes never notice the change. We wire a dedicated backup circuit during installation, configure which loads are protected, and test the changeover before handover. Tell us at quote stage if whole-home backup matters so we size accordingly.
What happened with the Sigenergy recall — should I be worried?
In November 2025 Sigenergy issued a voluntary safety recall in Australia covering single-phase 8, 10 and 12 kW energy controllers sold between March and November 2025, where a quick-connect AC plug could overheat. It did not involve the battery modules. Sigenergy attributed it to crimping and installation practice rather than a design fault, replaced affected units, and current stock ships with a redesigned connector. Anything we install today is unaffected. If you already own an affected unit — installed by us or anyone else — call us and we will check it.
Can I charge an EV from it?
Yes, and this is the reason a lot of our customers pick SigenStor. A DC charging module (12.5 kW or 25 kW) mounts into the same tower rather than hanging as a separate wall charger, and it is V2X-ready for bidirectional charging down the track. If an EV is on the horizon, it is worth wiring for now even if you add the module later.
Is the SigenStor eligible for the federal battery rebate?
